Latest Updates from Our Project:

Almost 100% fulfilled and looking to send/resend the remaining games
almost 4 years ago – Sat, Jun 13, 2020 at 03:57:12 AM

Hi Everyone,

We're back in the office (finally) and desperately wanting to get these last few orders out the door and off to their rightful homes. Unfortunately, some of them went out the door previously and then came back as undeliverable. If you haven't received your order and suspect an address error, it wouldn't hurt to send a message via Kickstarter and make sure we're all on the same page.

In other news, the pandemic has given us time to revise the rules and complile the 2p and Solo rules. We'll be sending those out via email as we put the finishing touches on them.

Hope you are all well in these strange times,

Karl and Jeremy

Shipping like crazy!

Mythica backers,

It's a great pleasure to see the piles of games going out the door after so much tribulation!

Last week, we convened in Washington for a frenzied couple of days of sorting, packing, taping, checking, double-checking, labeling, stacking, triple-checking, etc.

This week, all of the remaining domestic orders shipped, aside from a half-dozen that are held up for odd reasons or require further attention. We are currently labeling and scheduling pickups for the remaining international orders.

We're excited to finish up. Be sure to watch for a tracking number in your Inbox!

At long last, good news!
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 07, 2019 at 04:23:12 PM

We have good news to report!

Finding a solution to our shipping problem took longer than expected (everything has, to be honest). Over the course of the past few weeks, a promising Plan A failed unexpectedly after much work and effort (and expense), then a decent Plan B didn't quite pan out, and finally a hasty and rather desperate Plan C fell through.

Miraculously, Plan D fell into place.

We have secured the financing needed to complete fulfillment, domestic and international, all of it. Yay, team. We're late, yes. And Murphy's Law has officially been renamed Mythica's Law, because everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.

Nevertheless, at the beginning of July, we will have the means to ship everything, so that's the plan, and once we have the funds, Jeremy and I are taking time off work, etc, and will not stop until the last game goes out the door. International shipments will ship via DHL and domestic shipments will go through FedEx.

For those of you who pitched in again to help with the extra shipping, your generosity was unexpected and humbling, and we love you. We are brainstorming ways to show our appreciation. And for those of you who have been patient and (in the true Kickstarter spirit) forgiving of our inexperience and errors, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And for those of you who lost your patience at times, we understand and we thank you for supporting the effort in the first place. We hope you all enjoy the game.

Mythica Shipping Update
almost 5 years ago – Thu, May 09, 2019 at 09:58:42 PM

Hello all,

We don't have any concrete news yet, but enough has happened since the last update that we wanted to send another note to keep everyone in the loop.

First off, we'd like to thank those of you who unexpectedly offered support of all kinds after the last update. Several games were personally picked up from our office in Seattle, others have been shipped with additional contributions from backers, some of you have written with much-appreciated encouragement, and a pair of backers who already have the game are helping revise a few of the rules (by breaking them).

As far as shipping goes, we applied for financing and were told we would have an answer early next week. That's encouraging. If all goes well, the funds will be available soon and we will push the remaining games out the door.

We'll keep you posted,

Karl and Jeremy

Shipping Update - April
about 5 years ago – Tue, Apr 09, 2019 at 08:09:45 PM

Greetings Everyone,

I wish I had great news, but I don't. Instead, I need to update you on the shipping delay.

As you have probably gathered, our little project has been beset by obstacles and setbacks, but I want to reassure you that it is still very much in the process of being fulfilled. If the various problems and obstacles didn't add up to seriously frustrating hurdles and delays, they would be laughable in the way they prove Murphy's Law. In our case, it seems true that "everything that could go wrong, did."

With that said, here's where it stands: We have delivered a third of our orders and we are working to deliver the rest. The process has been slooowwwww. In part, it's due to the discovery of errors made by the manufacturing company. When those problems were discovered, we slowed delivery and began checking each unit's 1000+ pieces for errors. We regularly found units with pieces that had been improperly sorted by the manufacturer, so they had to be redistributed by us by hand.

Unfortunately, some of the improperly-sorted units had already been shipped and we have worked to solve those issues so that all of our backers have a complete set. That was just one of the problems, but it was a significant one in terms of delaying fulfillment.

The issue we're dealing with at the moment is simply one of costs. The person who initially was responsible for the logistics of production and shipping (all of our early cost calculations were based on his research and estimates) did a poor job and then quit the project as the kickstarter launched. Do we wish we had stopped right then and checked his numbers? Absolutely. But we did not. The truth is we trusted him at the time and we were just very busy with all of the other demands of the project.

So, while it does no good to blame anyone, we are left holding the  bag, which amounts to this: at present, there is a shortfall in our shipping budget. For example, shipping a deluxe unit to the EU, which was estimated in campaign at $30-$40, is actually costing us $89. Per unit. Is this a bit of a disaster? Yes. Is it the fault of our backers? Of course not.

So here's the bottom line: we are currently securing financing with which to ship the remaining orders, which are sitting, sorted and labeled and ready to ship in Seattle, WA. When the financing comes in, which we are assured will happen early in May, we will ship the remaining units, with our apologies.

Needless to say, this is not how we intended things to go. Nevertheless, we stand by our commitment and obligation to deliver the game and we will do that.
